Life After TV

Sat Nov 14, 2009, 2:27 PM
  • Listening to: bad algorithmic music
  • Reading: too many textbooks
  • Watching: WAY too much stuff youtube
  • Playing: 50-billion-and-one-th RE4 run
  • Eating: Coffee
  • Drinking: Coffee
I have never watched much TV, and when I have watched anything, it's most often been a mechanism to keep myself from falling asleep while working on something. After some months now with a dead TV (due to never having gotten a converter box), I have learned a lot of great things:
- On hulu, my favorite shows don't seem to always take place during a snowstorm.
- Everything at the video store exists on youtube anyway.
- No TV show or movie can compare to the glory of this: [link] (which is a summary of videos from [link] just to get the credits right)

Yes, BLIND LETS PLAYS. Blind lets plays of horror games. Best thing since since the phrase "best thing since." I can be entertained for hours while working at lot more easily. That may or may not be a good thing, but I can at least enjoy myself a bit more while killing myself through lack of sleep and coffee. It's a sad thing for the movie industry when it's more appealing to do work while watching someone get flustered playing a game than go to a theater. It may be working while watching, but at least there's never going to be that obnoxious kid kicking the back of my seat or the unusually tall person who decides to sit right in front of me.

Thanks :) I'm hoping to get another entry in at some point if time permits. From what I understand, it will be judged at least in part based on skill level, so the field will be evened by that. Looking today, I also see that *Blue-Paper submitted something - that's some stiff competition right there.
